Dr. Omar Sangurima is the Head of Program Management and Cyber Third-Party Risk at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he leads cybersecurity operations, governance, and identity and access management programs protecting one of the nation's foremost cancer research and treatment institutions. With more than a decade of experience in cybersecurity program management, his work sits at the intersection of regulatory foresight, operational resilience, and workforce development in healthcare. Dr. Sangurima is a founding member of the Health3PT Initiative and Council, an industry coalition of over 20 leading healthcare organizations working to standardize third-party cyber risk management across the healthcare supply chain. He is also the founder of Adaptive Foundry, a consultancy focused on helping organizations build sustainable security compliance programs grounded in frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. A Board Director of Cyber Mettle Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding the entry-level cybersecurity pipeline by training emerging professionals through hands-on GRC and risk management engagements with nonprofits and small businesses, Dr. Sangurima is deeply committed to expanding access to cybersecurity careers. He has served as a university instructor at Fullstack Academy and remains an active mentor and advocate for underrepresented communities entering the field. Dr. Sangurima holds a Doctor of Information Technology from Walden University, an MBA in Finance from Marist College, a Master of Health Administration from Western Governors University, and an MIS from Keller Graduate School, among other graduate credentials and certifications.
